last sunday joe and i took the kids, along with my mom to go and see barack obama speak at csu in ft collins. after waiting in line for several hours we were treated to an incredibly exciting rally and speech. not only did obama speak but govenor ritter, who i happen to think is pretty cool, spoke as well. it was really great to be there and to see him speak live. we were about 30 yards from the stage which in a crowd of 50,000 people was pretty close. but not close enough for me to be able to see over all the tall people in front of me. joe put the kids on his shoulders so they got some pretty good looks. i had to jump- a lot. but i did get to see him. we got some pretty good pictures too.
here we are waiting in line

here's a portion of the 3 mile long line

here are joe and ana going through the metal detectors

here is bill ritter as he speaks

here is obama as he speaks

here is the sea of people as we leave the rally

we were so fortunate to be able to do this. the kids were really great even though they didn't quite get why it was important to go and do this. but if he becomes president they'll thank us in a few years. if not, it was still cool to see him speak and see a part of such a historic campaign.
