vera

vera has decided that i should make a playlist of her favorite songs and i thought i would post it here. she is such a great kid. she is always so kind to others and helpful especially to her mom who is often teetering on the verge of insanity. she read a story a few weeks back about a girl who elicited donations of duffle bags for foster kids once she found out that they usually don't get to take anything of their own with them when they go into foster care. and when they do get to take some things it is usually put into a garbage bag as they are rushed out of their home. vera was very touched by this story mostly because she remembers what it feels like to have nothing of you own when you are moved from house to house. she has decided to do something and ana and ricky decided they wanted to help too. so last week the kids wrote a letter asking for donations of backpacks and blankets and stuffed animals to put into them and took them to school handing them out to their classes. so far we have tons of stuffed animals and a dozen backpacks. the kids are so excited they can't wait to get more! when we get more we are going to bring them to the kids old case worker so she can give them to kids that need them.
