drugs

unfortunately our kids know all too well the dangers and consequences of drug use. the topic happens to come up occasionally at our house. i'm all about scaring them into never trying drugs. so when the other night there happened to be a little show on tv talking about the dangers of meth use i decided to show them a little of it that i thought wasn't over their heads. there was a girl explaining how drugs ruined her life and all the problems it caused and how now she is in jail and her kids were taken away and she doesn't know how all this happened when she just wanted to try it once. the show also talked about how a lot of kids in the foster system are there because they were found at meth houses. so we had a good talk, we roll played a little, everyone decided meth was evil and we went on with our lives...until today.
while at school today ana's teacher catches me in the hall and informs me that ana was involved in an interesting classroom conversation the day before. while talking about strangers with the class her teacher was trying to point out that not all strangers are bad people, just people you don't know. so because you don't know if they are good or bad you don't talk to them or go anywhere with them. at this point ana jumps in and says " if they're a bad stranger they might kidnap you and take you to a meth house and you'll have to breath drugs." i apologized but her teacher thought it was funny. i do too kind of.
