every month at school teachers pick someone from their class to display in the hall and award what is called a mighty mustang to them. this award is given to those who work hard or do good things for those around them. we were thrilled when ricky came home last friday and announced that he had received this award from his teacher! ricky has had a really rough few months emotionally. sometimes he has to work harder than most kids to make good choices and do the right thing, simply because he has a lot of anger to work through from having such a traumatic childhood. but he has worked very hard and his teacher knows it and so she knew he deserved this, even though he doesn't think he does sometimes.
it's difficult to see what his teacher wrote about him from the picture, but here is what it say:
"Ricky has a sweet personality and participates every day in class. He has a lot to offer his classmates in every subject. He tries very hard to be a Mighty Mustang everyday."
we think ricky is the neatest little boy we have ever met! we are so proud of him earning this award. we are also quite proud to be his parents.
