Thanksgiving

we went over to my parent's house for thanksgiving dinner. it was alot of fun. there was great food courtesy of my dad and movies for the kids while the cooking was going on and good conversations. it was really a fun and relaxing day. except for my mom and dad. but thanks for having us over!

there is a little story behind rick's hair. the girls wanted me to put their hair up so they could look nice for thanksgiving dinner. great- no problem, except for the fact that i am not really great at doing girls hair. but i put all my heart and hard work into it and the girls came out with something different at least. now rick comes up stairs and says "mom, how come you never do my hair?" he was quite sad so i told him that i would do his hair. " what do you want me to do with it?" i ask.
"i want a mohawk!" he happily replies. 15 years ago i would have thought it was so cool to have a mohawk. i would have given one to my child in a heartbeat. mohawks were very uncommon among the general population. only really cool people would ever do that to their hair. however, now everyone else who 15 years ago wished they could have a mohawk has decided that their sons should whether they want one or not. i don't know if this is the case in other parts of the country but i would say that 1 out of 10 kids in our town have mohawks. it's ridiculous and no longer cool. but i decided that since we were just going to hang out at my parents we would give him a mohawk. it took a while and alot of hair products but we managed and it stayed up almost all day :)
