... so me joe and the kids along with jeff, my mom and dad and chris and his wife and kids caravanned our way across the barren plains known as the state of kansas. we arrived 2 hours before the graduation and all crammed into the one hotel room that was ready early, to get changed.
here are the kids sleeping in the back as we stop for gas somewhere, in the middle of the night, in kansas, i think.
jeff waits to get his diploma!
jeff with his proud parents
anais tries on jeff's cap
joe and i enjoying the festivities
the kids sat inside and enjoyed a movie for a while
the movie was over so the kids joined us outside for a bit
fortunately our hotel had a pool and a game room. the kids had a great time and it wore them out.
here we are getting some real kansas city BBQ, which sounds wonderful until you realize you don't eat meat. thank goodness for coleslaw and fries, which go well dipped in the variety of BBQ sauces.
here we are in front of a beautiful fountain. KC has many of them all along this shopping district.
this photo may take a little explanation. my husband has a habit of finding cool record stores in every town we visit. at some point on our trip he will sneak out to find the store or stores and proceed to look for a great deal on a record he has been searching for. he brought his portable record player so he could make sure the record he bought was not too scratched up. this is that.
everyone hanging out before jeff goes home and we say good bye.
we had such a wonderful whirlwind trip. all the kids did great and we all had fun. i would like to admonish my family to plan a little better next time 2 large events are occurring. a day or two in between would have been nice :)
