metric

here is why metric is important...

two nights before the kids moved in with us, thus forever changing our social lives, joe and i had gone to denver for the evening to spend time with them and tuck them into bed at their foster home. after tucking them in joe and i were planning on meeting some friends to rock out at the metric concert. our last hurrah was thwarted by a tour van breakdown and an impending snow storm. we were quite sad as metric is a band we really enjoy (and now so do the kids). plus we sort of fancy the lead singer emily haines.

fast foward to this past weekend when metric decided to finally make up their cancelled denver show. my mom and dad graciously offered to take the kids overnight, which we realized was the first time we'd been away from them in over 2 months.
we drove down and rocked out after having a wonderful dinner at tommy's thai. here are a few pictures of emily and us from the show.

us at the show.

this dark image is what we call emily's danzig pose or perhaps emily as prince of darkness. we haven't decided.

this one we'll call emily as savior.

i like to call this shot angelic emily playing the keyboard

we finally got our last night out! we can't wait for the next great show to come along. morrissey are you reading this?
