hawley: a concert, an all-nighter and a baby

joe and i were able to go and see a band we like at the fillmore on april 24th. it was much needed fun! the only problem was that my brother steve and his girlfriend kristin were supposed to watch our kids. this would have all worked out just fine had their baby not decided that he was eager to arrive a few weeks early. so my dad watched all the kids while my mom went to the hospital with steve and kristin.
joe and i would not have our plans ruined so we met some friends for dinner and headed to our show. it was loud. very loud. and amazing. we had a really great time.

as we left denver around midnight kristin had still not had the baby...but she was close. steve asked me to come to the hospital. so joe and i went to the hospital before heading home hoping to be one of the first to catch a glimpse of the new little baby. upon arriving in the waiting room we realized that not only would we be waiting for this arrival with my mom but so were about 6 of steve's best friends that he has grown up with. also kristin's parents were able to get to the hospital before the baby arrived. i think they had a 4 hour drive or so. i have a feeling there were too many of us for such a little waiting room in the middle of the night.
so we were all there and we were all waiting, and waiting and waiting. around 3 am joe decided he should head home so one of us had energy for our kids in the morning. but the rest of us stayed, all night, waiting. finally tyson arrived around 6 am. he was so very cute!
